They perform calculations, assist with CAD documentation, and ensure designs follow building codes under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nStructural Analysis Design\n\nPerform structural calculations for steel and other structural members under guidance\nAssist with wind, seismic, and load analyses to support code-compliant designs\nDevelop basic structural designs and prepare technical calculation packages\n\nDesign Documentation CAD Coordination\n\nSupport CAD designers in creating design documents for prefabricated metal buildings\nAssist in preparing foundation design requirements, anchor bolt layouts, and documentation for permitting\nReview RFIs, submittals, and construction documents and escalate technical issues as needed\n\nCollaboration Learning\n\nParticipate in design reviews and project meetings\nCommunicate project status and technical findings to SE2 or Principal Engineer\nLearn and apply structural analysis software (RISA 3D, CFS11, HILTI) and company design standards\n\nPerforms additional duties as assigned.\n\nKnowledge, Skills Abilities\n\nRequired\n\nKnowledge of structural engineering principles for metal buildings and basic load analysis\nAbility to perform basic structural calculations and assist with design under supervision\nAbility to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications\nAbility to use structural analysis software (RISA 3D, CFS11, HILTI) for design tasks\nProblem-solving skills to address basic structural challenges\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with guidance\n\nPreferred\n\nKnowledge of US building codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, AISI)\nBasic understanding of IEEE compliance and design standards\nAbility to communicate technical information clearly within the team\nQualifications Experience\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in structural design and analysis and at least 1 year of relevant experience is required. In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience is accepted.\n\nTravel\n\nNone\n\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to walk and reach with hands. The employee is frequently required to sit and rarely required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee uses computer keyboards often. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
