analyze and interpret project data.\nWork with staff to confirm assay results and evaluate new techniques and instruments; search literature; propose, design and test alternative assays for difficult screening targets; confirm assay results; develop secondary assays.\nWork with Principal Investigators in scheduling and prioritizing instrument usage.\nCoordinate projects being developed in the laboratory, proposing SAR strategies and monitoring their progress.\nPrepare oral presentations and posters for internal and external groups/conferences.\nCo-author manuscripts on research projects; publish in peer-reviewed journals.\nWrite papers and abstracts detailing research efforts and results for publication in peer-reviewed journals; prepare PowerPoint presentations as appropriate.\nReview, edit, and, as needed, write first drafts of papers, posters and manuscripts.\nAssist the lab staff in the creation and preparation of a variety of documents required by the lab’s scientific activities.\nProduce research reports and regularly communicate results to staff and collaborators.\nMaintain a portfolio of research grants in the assigned area.\nPerform scientific and administrative reviews and analyses of grant applications/proposal from a programmatic viewpoint.\nProvide scientific and technical expertise to all visiting fellows, post-docs, and technicians.\nSelect, devise, plan and execute experiments in the context of the laboratory overall research program. 1\nPerform a variety of experimental procedures including isolation and analysis of DNA, RNA and protein by routine molecular biology methods, including in situ hybridization, RNA Scope, immunohistochemical staining, automated DNA sequencing, cell culture, Southern, Northern and Western blot analysis, real-time RTPCR and protein extraction. 2\nPerform a variety of experimental procedures on the expression of insulin isoforms and genetics of insulin signaling in the brain AD and MCI. 3\nAct as primary investigator in animal research studies and develop animal model systems, as related to Neuroscience and optogenetics in specific.\nMaintain tissue culture and lab space in a clean and orderly fashion.\nEvaluate new types of experimental approaches and recommend changes to SOPs based on knowledge of scientific literature, available facilities, and research needs.\nDetermine experimental approaches to be applied in order to evaluate the hypotheses under investigation and for planning and carrying out those experiments.\nPerform analysis and interpretation of the data for developing strategies for pursuing significant observation and for ensuring accuracy and reproducibility of results.\nInterpret experimental techniques and procedures.\nSearch all pertinent literature and references.\nDevise, modify and perform analyses.\nEvaluate and interpret data and make modifications as needed.\nCommunicate results and methods in reports, presentations and manuscripts for peer reviewed publications and at local, national and international meetings.\nCoordinate the training of laboratory personnel, research associates, post-doctoral fellows, visiting scientists, students and others in specialized technologies.\nWork products and documents related to selecting, devising, planning and executing experiments; perform a variety of experimental procedures including isolation and analysis of DNA, RNA and protein by routine molecular biology methods; perform a variety of experimental procedures on the expression of insulin isoforms and genetics of insulin signaling in the brain AD and MCI.\nWork products and documents related to acting as primary investigator in animal research studies;
