Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.Location: Wichita, KS (On-site)Position Responsibilities:As the operation process expert, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc.Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and implementing them within operations.Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposalsProvides expertise in production engineering disciplinesApplies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Teams to coordinate with include: Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operationsDevelops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principlesLeads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projectsProvides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):3+ years of related experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and/or manufacturing supportPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Trade School Certificate, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's DegreeStrong MS Office Suite skills (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environmentSelf-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closureFamiliar with RCCAProject Management experienceUnderstanding of fabrication and/or assembly build processes and sequencingExperience in Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing SupportFamiliarity with drilling and fastening partsExperience with SAP and/or MESStrong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detailActive listener and willing to learnHigh level of understanding in manufacturing of Sheet Metal assemblyUnion:This is a union-represented position.Drug Free Workplace:We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits: We strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
