Our products thrive in the toughest environments, and so do we—because we’re committed to helping our customers succeed.What’s the role?Teledyne ETM is seeking a mid-level, hands-on Field Service Engineer to support the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex high-power electronic systems. This role is focused on executing field service activities, performing structured diagnostics, and supporting customers under established procedures, with escalation to senior technicians and engineering as required. The position supports high power amplifiers, linear accelerators, high-voltage subsystems, and thermal control units deployed at customer sites worldwide and requires significant travel.What makes you a great fit?You’re technically savvy, self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. We value independent thinkers who bring clarity, commitment, and collaboration to everything they do.What You’ll DoPerform on‑site installation, system checkout, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:High power RF amplifiersLinear acceleratorsHigh-voltage power supplies and interlock systemsThermal control units, including cooling hardware, temperature sensors, and control componentsTroubleshoot electrical, electronic, and thermal issues at the system and subassembly level, following established service proceduresVerify system performance using schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and test proceduresIdentify common cooling and thermal issues such as insufficient cooling, temperature alarms, sensor faults, and control issuesPerform work safely around high-voltage and high-power equipment in accordance with company and customer safety requirementsComplete accurate and timely field service reportsWhen not travelling, you will be performing testing and repair of RMA parts at ETM’s Newark, CA office.What You’ll NeedAssociate’s degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent military or industry experience5 years of hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, or bench level troubleshooting of electronic systems, including: LINACs (medical or industrial); HV power supplies, modulators, klystrons, SSPAs, TWTAs; RF systems and interlocksExperience working with high-power electronics, RF systems, high-voltage equipment, or industrial/scientific systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentationMust possess a valid U.S. passportMust possess a valid driver's licenseAbility to manage the physical demands of the job, which include lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, working in confined spaces, twisting, kneeling, working at elevated heights and working in noisy environments with hearing protection.Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including internationally.Preferred qualifications include:Exposure to thermal management or cooling systems (chillers, temperature control units, sensors)Prior customer facing field service experienceExperience working in safety critical or regulated environmentsFamiliarity with structured troubleshooting, failure reporting, and escalation processesWhy You’ll Love Working HereCareer growth opportunities in a global organizationA welcoming, collaborative culture focused on problem-solvingCompetitive pay, full health benefits, 401(k) with matching, bonus program, and moreReady to Apply?If this sounds like the perfect role for you, apply today through our online portal:https://flir.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/flircareers/jobs?q=newarkSalary Range$96,600.00-$128,800.000The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
