They will provide application support to global drawing offices for engineering orders and proposals. Where necessary, the engineer will apply standard engineering techniques and consult specialists within other Engineering Solutions teams. They will provide engineering support for troubleshooting, commissioning issues, escalating support as necessary and working with Central Expertise as needed.\nDuties & Responsibilities Reviewing & processing application requests.\nFollowing standard techniques and procedures, selection/application of products to meet customers' needs for mechanical seals.\nGeneration of engineering proposals/specifications for products, including determining cost‑effective materials for production.\nCalculations (including seal leakage, heat generation, balance temp, flow rates, etc. for mechanical seals).\nProduce complete and informative drawing office requests and provide applications guidance to designers to complete layout (GA) and detail drawings.\nUse CAD to create proposal drawings, and to aid liaison with global drawing offices.\nRecord activity through iProjects & Lean Kit and ensure timely response to internal customers.\nDetailed failure analysis activities, including investigation/reporting/resolution.\nApprove/reject purchase or manufacture of fabricated parts not to drawing specification.\nRaise/process/approve Engineering Change Notice (ECN) requests.\nProvide day‑to‑day technical support to Regional Sales and Service teams.\nWork closely with Sales team and report any retrofit or upgrade opportunity.\nManage and report personal workload to meet customer and departmental objectives.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as necessary based on departmental needs, or as required by Manager.\nWork in line with John Crane standards, procedures, and policies.\nQualifications Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical Eng. (ME) highly preferred).\nMinimum 2 years of experience working with mechanical seals and/or rotating equipment preferred.\nWorking knowledge of personal computing, CAD (Solid Edge preferred) and application software.\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.\nStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience working in a diverse environment with a global company is a plus.\nLocation & Work Schedule Fully onsite position located in Pasadena, TX.\nCandidates must live within commuting distance of the facility.\nRegular onsite attendance is required.\nWe believe that different perspectives and backgrounds are what make a company flourish.
