This mid-level skilled trades role is responsible for performing advanced welding operations with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, can interpret detailed blueprints, and consistently meets production timelines.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform advanced welding processes including MIG, TIG, and flux-cored arc welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and copperRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and weld symbols to execute precise weldsSet up, adjust, and operate welding equipment and fixtures independentlyFit and weld assemblies in plate positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G) and pipe positions (1G, 2G, 3G, 4G)Ensure all welds meet quality standards, codes, and specificationsInspect completed welds using measuring tools and visual inspection techniquesTroubleshoot welding issues and recommend process improvementsMaintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standardsCollaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet project requirements and deadlinesEducation, Qualifications, and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical welding certification preferred5+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentProficiency in MIG, TIG, and flux-core weldingPipe welding experience; certifications are a plusStrong understanding of weld symbols and blueprint readingExperience working with tight tolerances and complex assembliesKnowledge of AWS, ASME, or similar industry standardsAbility to pass weld certification tests as requiredStrong attention to detail and qualityProven troubleshooting abilityStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to manage time and meet production deadlinesPhysical Demands:Regular standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reachingAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 poundsFrequent use of hands for tools, welding equipment, and measuring instrumentsStrong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity requiredAbility to work in confined spaces, awkward positions, or elevated areasMust wear required PPE including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, respirator, and protective clothingExposure to noise, heat, sparks, fumes, and other fabrication environment conditionsAlternate Job Titles:WelderPipe WelderFabrication WelderMIG/TIG WelderIndustrial WelderStructural WelderManufacturing WelderKeywords for SEO: MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, flux-core welding, pipe welding, blueprint reading, weld symbols, AWS standards, ASME, fabrication, manufacturing, welding certification, industrial welding, metal fabrication, skilled trades, welding positions 1G 2G 3G 4GEEOC Statement: We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
