We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join a backend engineering team focused on modernising and scaling core platform services. You will contribute to cloud migration initiatives, system design, and the development of resilient, high-performing applications using modern engineering practices. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and services.Deliver high-quality, scalable code with strong focus on automation and reliability.Contribute to on-premise to AWS migration projects and cloud-native architectures.Own services end-to-end, including monitoring, deployments, incident resolution, and operational support.Participate in system design, architectural discussions, and technical decision-making.Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical solutions.Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and engineering standards.Participate in an on-call rotation when required.Required Skills & Experience5+ years of software engineering experience.Strong Java development experience. Strong AWS experience, including services such as DynamoDB, RDS, and Lambda. Experience migrating applications from on-premise environments to AWS.Experience with Kafka and Cassandra.Strong understanding of monitoring, alerting, observability, and operational best practices. Experience with distributed systems and system design.Excellent communication skills with a high degree of autonomy and accountability. Nice to HaveTypeScript or JavaScript experience. Experience building new products or platform capabilities.
