Housekeeping / Laundry AideStarting at $13.00/hourPURPOSE OF YOUR JOB POSITIONPerform daily work activities of the Housekeeping/Laundry Department to ensure the community is kept clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable; and that an adequate supply of clean linens and resident clothing is available in accordance with infection prevention and environmental services standards.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior housekeeping/laundry experience preferred.Knowledge of housekeeping/laundry procedures, equipment, and chemicals.Ability to plan work routines, follow schedules, and complete assignments in allotted time.Able to work both independently and as a team member; conscientious with attention to detail.Able to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow written/oral instructions.RESIDENT RIGHTSMaintain confidentiality of PHI; treat residents with dignity and respect; knock before entering rooms.Report grievances/complaints and suspected abuse or misappropriation immediately per policy.Communicate respectfully; honor cultural differences among residents and staff.Essential Responsibilities And DutiesClean resident rooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, lobbies, lounges, corridors, offices, and restrooms.Sweep, vacuum, mop, and scrub floors; wax and polish floors using approved equipment.Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstery by vacuum, bonnet, or extraction; dust furniture; wash walls, windows, doors.Sort, count, wash, dry, fold, mark, and deliver linens and clothing; replace cubicle curtains; roll small carpets.Set and maintain organized work/supply carts; keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazards.Remove trash and soiled linens to designated areas; perform cleaning for designated equipment.Maintain adequate par levels of cleaning and laundry supplies; report shortages and reorder needs.Follow cleaning schedules and infection prevention practices; terminal clean as assigned.Report hazards, equipment issues, and incidents immediately; enter work orders as directed (e.g., TELS).Create a welcoming, homelike environment and practice strong customer service with residents and families.SAFETY AND SANITATIONFollow infection control and universal precautions; use appropriate PPE.Maintain SDS awareness; report missing or illegible labels/SDS to supervisor.Follow fire safety, emergency, and evacuation procedures; participate in in-services and drills.Keep floors and work areas free of obstructions; store equipment safely.Clean, disinfect, and return resident-care equipment (e.g., shower chairs) to designated areas after use.Specific RequirementsMove intermittently throughout the workday; stand for prolonged periods; push/pull carts.Lift, carry, push, and handle equipment, supplies, or bags up to 50 lbs; assist beyond 50 lbs as needed.Function independently with flexibility, personal integrity, and effective interaction with residents and team members.Willing to perform tasks with potential exposure to blood/body fluids; assist in evacuations during emergencies.
