Position Type: Secondary 7-12 Date Posted: 1/5/2026 Location: District Start Date: Summer 2026 Position Summary: To develop students' skills and competence in basic and complex mathematical principles, equations, formulas and calculations, as well as an understanding of the application of mathematics in the solution of practical problems. School Year: 2026/2027 Essential Tasks and Responsibilities: Administer mathematics curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectivesPromote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learningDevelop lesson plans and instructional materials for subject areaTranslate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, that challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instructionTeach knowledge and skills in mathematics, including concepts such as real and imaginary numbers, formulas, calculations and geometry, and promotes creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areasDesign learning activities to demonstrate the application of mathematics to everyday existence and problem-solvingConduct ongoing assessments of student learning and progressModify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needsConduct individual and small group instruction as neededMaintain familiarity with district and state standardized tests for the purpose of adapting curriculum to maximize student achievement on such testsContinue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting researchOrganize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable lawsEncourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parentsEnsure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policiesEstablish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroomCoordinate with other professional staff members, especially within grade level, and participate in faculty meetings and committeesSelect appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipmentMaintain inventory recordsAdhere to all policies of the District and the Code of Ethics for Arkansas EducatorsPerform other tasks as assigned by the building administrator and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
