The goal is to bring someone into the organization who can independently run the accounting function, provide meaningful financial insight, and progressively take responsibilities off the CFO's plate.\n\nThis position currently sits within a lean three-person finance/accounting team and includes direct management of one Bookkeeper.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nTake ownership of the company's full-cycle accounting function\nOversee month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and financial reporting\nManage and analyze WIP reporting, job costing, and project accounting\nMonitor project financial performance, profitability, and cost-to-complete\nPrepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial projections\nPerform variance analysis and provide actionable financial insight to leadership\nOversee AP, AR, general ledger, and account reconciliations\nPartner with project managers and operations teams regarding project financial performance\nImprove accounting processes, reporting, controls, and overall financial visibility\nSupport cash flow management and banking activities\nAssist with revenue recognition and percentage-of-completion accounting\nOversee AIA/progress billing, change orders, and project-related accounting as applicable\nManage and develop the Bookkeeper\nServe as a trusted financial partner to the CFO and executive leadership team\nHelp build the accounting and finance infrastructure necessary to support continued company growth\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nMust Have\nStrong construction accounting and finance experience\nHands-on experience with WIP reporting, job costing, and project accounting\nFull-cycle accounting experience, including:\nGeneral ledger\nMonth-end close\nAP/AR\nReconciliations\nFinancial reporting\nExperience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and project profitability\nProven ability to independently own an accounting function\nStrong understanding of construction financials and project-level accounting\nLeadership experience and the ability to manage and develop accounting staff\nAbility to partner effectively with both finance and operational leadership\n\nNice to Have\nRevenue recognition / percentage-of-completion accounting\nAIA and progress billing\nCost-to-complete reporting\nChange order management\nCash flow management\nBanking, surety, or bonding experience\nMulti-entity or multi-project construction accounting\nExperience partnering directly with project managers and operations\nExperience with Sage, CMiC, Deltek, or another construction/project accounting ERP\nMilitary/veteran background is a significant plus\n\nA bit about us:\n-\n\nWe are a growing construction organization with 100+ employees and a strong track record of continued financial and operational growth.
