FLSA Non-Exempt Estimated Number of Hours Per Week 34 Employment Status Part Time Temporary Student Appointment Type Work-Study General DescriptionThe residence hall staff is responsible for the supervision of UMUB students in the residence hall during the Summer Academy and for tutoring UMUB students during the evening tutoring sessions. Applicants must, first and foremost, enjoy working with high school aged students, understand their needs, and be able to tolerate their often-irrational behavior. Preference will be given to graduate students or upper-level undergraduates.Flat rate of $510 per week for a total of 6 weeks., plus room and board.Duty hours are from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning.Essential Job DutiesLive in HansonHall and supervise students during duty hours, enforcing UMUB rules and policies as well as UM residence hall rules and policies, and responding to emergencies.Tutor students in an academic subject or ACT areas as needed.Plan, implement, and supervise evening activities, including reserving university space and equipment.Attend an in-person team-building training and other summer planning events in May, location, date and time are TBA.Assist students and UMUB staff on student move-in day on May 25th and move-out date on June 26th. Duties for this includes, but is not limited to, checking materials, transporting materials, preparing residence hall bulletin boards and doors, requesting supplies as needed, pre-inventorying rooms, and posting students names on doors.Complete room inspections and document findings as needed.Assist UMUB staff with emptying Hanson Hall of any UMUB items and supplies, ensuring that all items are returned to correctSome duties are required on a rotating basis as decided among the RA staff.
