They bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, focusing on tooling, programming, and process improvements.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProcess Development & Optimization\nDesign, implement, and refine CNC machining processes.\nSelect cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and parameters for optimal performance.\nReduce cycle times, scrap, and rework through continuous improvement.\nProgramming & Tooling\nCreate and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, G Code.\nDevelop detailed process plans and work instructions for operators.\nEnsure proper tooling design and setup for precision machining.\nQuality & Compliance\nCollaborate with Quality Control for first-piece inspections.\nApply statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis for defects.\nMaintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.\nTroubleshooting & Support\nDiagnose machining issues and implement corrective actions.\nProvide technical support to production teams and operators\nTrain staff on CNC processes and best practices.\nProcess documentation and standardization\nCreate and maintain process documentation including work instructions and PFMEA\nSupport to implement lean manufacturing principles\nCollect and analyze data to implement improvements (cycle time, efficiency).\nSkills & Qualifications\nTechnical Expertise\nStrong knowledge of CNC programming, machining techniques, and CAD/CAM tools.\nFamiliarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).\nFixture design and work supports\nUnderstanding of materials science (metals, composites, plastics).\nExperience in GROB and or SW Equipment\nProblem-Solving\nAbility to analyze process data and identify inefficiencies.\nExperience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.\n3–5 years of experience in CNC machining or process engineering.\nRelevant certifications or work experience can sometimes equal for a formal degree.\nWork Environment:\nCNC Engineers generally work in manufacturing plants, factories, or production facilities. They may be involved in working with teams on the floor or collaborating with engineering teams in an office environment.
