The organization serves a community of approximately 10,000 people in a region known for outdoor recreation, natural beauty, and a high quality of life.About the OpportunityThe Billing Auditor is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of commercial hospital billing claims. This position plays an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, meeting departmental goals, and ensuring claims are properly prepared, submitted, and resolved.The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payer requirements, and the ability to research and correct billing issues while maintaining accurate account documentation.Responsibilities• Maintain accurate patient account information.• Correct accounts to ensure proper and timely billing.• Monitor billing reports and follow up to ensure claims are processed within required timeframes.• Process Medicaid Remittance Advices and make appropriate account adjustments.• Rebill insurance companies when necessary.• Prepare and submit secondary payer claims promptly.• Research and resolve late charges, credits, and other account discrepancies.• Document actions taken on accounts and schedule appropriate follow-ups.• Coordinate required documentation between payers, medical records, and other departments.• Collaborate with system operations teams to identify and resolve billing and processing issues.• Monitor claim rejections and take appropriate action to resolve them.• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve billing processes and accuracy.• Verify that claims have been successfully received by payers.• Provide coverage and support for other billing staff as needed.Requirements• High school diploma or equivalent required.• 1–3 years of healthcare business office experience.• Experience working with organizational and payer billing requirements.• Computer proficiency, including experience with Meditech, SSI, Optical Storage System, PCs, and Windows.• Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.• Good credit rating.Pay Range and Compensation Package• $20.00–$28.87 per hour, depending on education, skills, experience, and other relevant qualifications.Benefits & Perks• Medical, dental, and vision insurance, including dependent coverage.• Employer-paid basic life insurance with additional buy-up options.• Flexible Spending Accounts for healthcare and dependent care.• Paid time off, family and medical leave, sick leave, and bereavement leave.• Tuition assistance.• Retirement plans, including 401(a) and 403(b), with employer matching.• Employee Assistance Program.• Employee discounts on medical services and voluntary benefits.• Access to recreation passes and additional wellness perks.• Eligibility for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
