General Superintendent
DynaTen (a Comfort Systems USA Company) has been successfully providing Commercial Service and Construction Solutions to the greater North Texas market. DynaTen is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to join our team! As a General Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all field activities as they relate to manpower, material, and methods of installation on each project. This includes training, supporting, evaluating, and corrective actions for all employees under his and/or her direction. The main objective of the General Superintendent position is to implement a culture of Accountability by maximizing jobsite safety, teamwork, quality, productivity, and customer loyalty. You will help execute our organization’s strategic goals, manage key customer relationships and mentor direct reports in their day-to-day responsibilities. Additionally, this is a position that offers professional leadership development and long-term career growth in service operations leadership and beyond.
Responsibilities
Manage manpower performance, productivity and pre-planning
Collaborate with senior management, to ensure labor needs are being met.
Create professional field teams through comprehensive training
Attend project planning meetings and coordinate with team to ensure essential direct reports are also in attendance.
Work with trade superintendents to assure foreman selection is based on best fit for specific projects
Assure trade superintendents and foreman are participating in BIM process from project beginning to completion
Hold superintendents and foreman accountable to attend constructability meetings and bring constructive ideas to share with project team
Verify pertinent information for each project is turned over to field teams, address with missing or delinquent items with the project manager
Visit worksite locations weekly to track progress, understand needs and address challenges.
Teach and coach superintendents regarding software entry process for required reports and updates.
Confirm all timecards are checked for accuracy and verified in appropriate software for payroll entry
Collaborate with project managers, trade superintendents and manufacturing to confirm the team has exhausted all venues for prefab before any material is delivered to site.
Review with project managers and trade superintendents to get long lead items and items needing prefabrication or kitting ordered early to meet project schedule
Communicate with project managers on any unresolved project issues or potential delays: RFI's, Change Orders, Design Flaws, ASI's, Submittal Delays etc.
Cultivate a culture of accountability across direct reports
Address any issues for resolution with GC. If no resolution can be reached in field bring to operations manager
Act as liaison between General Contractor and the company to maintain and/or build relationships
Hold trade superintendents accountable for training and mentoring the specific foreman and workers on their projects
Seek out training opportunities for trade superintendents and foreman and new tools and systems to increase productivity
Perform, with HR and operations managers, annual reviews of direct reports
Hold field leaders accountable for completing safety audits, 3-week look ahead as well as a daily task plan
Be present for any safety violation meetings
Perform or confirm write ups are done to hold field employees accountable for safety, attendance, and/or any violations of employee handbook. Follow up with employee with counseling and document with HR.
Assist with or conduct candidate interviews, as needed
Collaborate with project managers to review man hours and materials expensed on a project and forecast project labor through completion.
Stress importance of continual improvement through training and hiring practices
Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned
Requirements
10-yrs construction supervision related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school is a plus
Direct supervision of mechanical and plumbing trades and workers
Experience overseeing job site personnel of a minimum of (10) ten direct reports
Experience completing required documentation electronically
Master license in trade in corresponding state preferred
OSHA 30 hour preferred

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, humidity, rain, snow, wind, and sunlight. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 75lbs pounds. Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
