Controller / Manufacturing Accounting ManagerA growing Northern New Jersey manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Controller / Manufacturing Accounting Manager to help strengthen and scale the company’s financial operations within a dynamic production environment.This is a highly visible role offering direct interaction with ownership and operations leadership. The ideal candidate is an accounting professional with strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience who enjoys partnering closely with production, inventory, and operational teams to improve reporting, processes, and profitability.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, inventory accounting, and fixed assetsOwn and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reportingAssist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and operational reportingSupport manufacturing cost accounting activities including standard costing, inventory valuation, BOM accuracy, labor tracking, and variance analysisPartner with operations leadership to improve costing visibility, production reporting, inventory controls, and operational efficiencyMonitor KPIs including gross margins, labor utilization, inventory performance, and production variancesSupport cycle counts, physical inventories, and WIP/inventory reconciliation processesDevelop and maintain financial models, management reports, dashboards, and Excel-based analytical toolsHelp improve ERP, purchasing, inventory management, and accounting workflowsMaintain strong internal controls and audit-ready financial documentationCoordinate year-end review, tax, and compliance processesParticipate in process improvement initiatives and help build scalable financial infrastructure as the company growsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredExpertise in U.S. GAAPCPA or CPA-track candidate strongly preferred5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory, standard costing, and variance analysisExperience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting (Epicor or similar platforms preferred)Advanced Excel and financial analysis skillsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesHands-on mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations and production teamsProven experience working with over $25M in annual revenue strongly preferredWhy This OpportunityHigh-visibility role with direct exposure to company leadershipOpportunity to influence systems, reporting, and operational improvementsBlend of accounting, manufacturing finance, inventory, and operational partnershipGrowing company environment with strong long-term advancement potentialAbility to make a meaningful impact on financial processes and business performance
