Full job descriptionPosition OverviewBigfoot Management is seeking a dependable and skilled Service Technician to support maintenance operations across our residential property portfolio.This role focuses primarily on service work in occupied homes and apartments, diagnosing and resolving maintenance requests efficiently while providing a positive experience for residents. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys solving problems, communicates well with tenants/team-mates, and takes pride in completing repairs correctly.This position requires a technician with a broad range of maintenance skills, the ability to troubleshoot unfamiliar problems, and the professionalism to work inside occupied homes.ResponsibilitiesService Work (Primary Focus)Respond to maintenance requests in occupied units and complete repairs efficiently and professionally.Diagnose and resolve issues involving plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances, doors, windows, locks, cabinets, and other building components.Troubleshoot problems and determine the most effective repair approach.Perform plumbing repairs including fixture replacement, leaks, shut-off valves, disposals, and toilet repairs.Perform light electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, fixtures, and troubleshooting minor electrical issues when safe and permitted.Repair drywall, patch and paint surfaces, and complete finish work when needed.Repair or install appliances and other household equipment.Customer Service & CommunicationCommunicate clearly and respectfully with residents while working inside their homes.Explain repair work when appropriate and ensure residents feel informed and comfortable.Maintain a clean and professional work environment inside occupied units.Work Order ManagementDocument work performed through our maintenance software including notes and photos.Communicate clearly with property managers and the maintenance team regarding work status or additional repair needs.Identify larger issues that may require additional planning, materials, or vendor support.Team SupportAssist with occasional rent-ready turnovers and property projects when needed.Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to keep work orders moving and properties operating smoothly.What We're Looking ForSuccessful technicians in this role tend to:Show up reliably and ready to solve problemsTake ownership of work orders and follow repairs through to completionCommunicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with residentsApproach problems with strong troubleshooting and mechanical thinkingWork independently while staying organized and productiveMaintain a kind, patient, and service-oriented attitudeTake pride in completing repairs correctly rather than rushing through themRequirementsStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilityWorking knowledge of residential maintenance including:PlumbingElectrical fixturesDrywall repairPaintingCarpentryAppliance troubleshootingDoors, windows, and hardwareAbility to work independently and manage multiple work ordersValid driver’s license and reliable transportationSmartphone capable of running work order applicationsAbility to lift, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work as requiredExperience in property management maintenance or residential service work is strongly preferred.BenefitsPaid time offOpportunities for advancementProfessional development and skill growthStable year-round work across a diverse property portfolioJob Type: Full-timePay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hourBenefits:Opportunities for advancementPaid time offWork Location: In person
