The facility houses logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production under one roof, optimized for rapid iteration and maximum compute density per square foot.Tesla is seeking highly driven Silicon Module Process Engineers across multiple disciplines (lithography, etch, deposition, epitaxy, metals, implant, polish and M&I) to accelerate advanced system-on-chip (SoC) development. In this role, you will build chips atom by atom: developing, optimizing, and owning the unit processes that pattern, deposit, remove, and transform materials at nanoscale precision. Working within Terafab's vertically integrated environment, you will collaborate directly with upstream and downstream modules, seeing your process changes flow through the full stack from front-end device fabrication to packaging and test. This unique structure enables rapid iteration cycles and immediate feedback loops that are impossible in traditional fabs. You will partner with cross-functional teams across the fab and Tesla's global network to bring up new tools, establish robust processes, and deliver best-in-class module performance with industry-leading specifications. From first wafer to high-volume manufacturing, you will be hands-on with the equipment and processes that define Terafab's capability. What You'll DoOwn end-to-end module performance from new tool installation and process development through qualification, production ramp, and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) supportLead tool installation and qualification programs, driving on-time, spec-compliant performance and seamless HVM transitionsExecute tool-to-tool and fab-to-fab matching, ensuring global alignment across Tesla's sister fabs to achieve uniformity in productionPartner with equipment vendors and internal stakeholders to develop and sustain leading-edge module technologies that maximize yield, reliability, and cost-effectivenessDesign and lead complex DOEs to optimize process windows, extract actionable insights, and guide data-driven process improvementsDrive systematic yield improvement using structured problem-solving methodologies, leveraging upstream/downstream integration knowledgeLead cross-functional task forces to troubleshoot process excursions, perform root-cause and failure analysis, and implement long-term corrective actionsDevelop and maintain technical documentation including design-of-records, control plans, specifications, and standardized operating proceduresChampion continuous improvement in safety, quality, throughput, and cost, directly supporting the fab's operational excellence roadmapSupport 24/7 manufacturing operations through rotations, on-call availability, and rapid response to critical production issuesWhat You'll BringBachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent experienceHands-on cleanroom experience through internships, co-ops, research projects, or academic lab workFundamental understanding of semiconductor physics, materials science, and unit process operations (lithography, etch, deposition, etc.)Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work independently, and solve complex technical problems with limited guidanceStrong experimental mindset with curiosity to investigate root causes and iterate toward solutionsExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teamsWillingness to work hands-on with equipment and processes in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, including shift rotations and on-call supportExceptional ability to navigate ambiguity, execute in fast-paced environments, and deliver results under pressureExpected travel is 10% of timeBenefitsCompensation and BenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program, Tesla","company":"Tesla","rawCompany":"tesla","city":"Austin","state":"TX","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-06-06T13:53:01.030Z","occupations":[{"code":"51-9141.00","title":"Semiconductor Processing Technicians","slug":"semiconductor-processing-technicians"},{"code":"17-2131.00","title":"Materials Engineers","slug":"materials-engineers"},{"code":"17-2199.06","title":"Microsystems Engineers","slug":"microsystems-engineers"}],"industries":[{"code":"334413","title":"Semiconductor and Related Device Manufacturing","slug":"semiconductor-and-related-device-manufacturing"},{"code":"334419","title":"Other Electronic Component Manufacturing","slug":"other-electronic-component-manufacturing"},{"code":"541715","title":"Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Nanotechnology and Biotechnology)","slug":"research-and-development-in-the-physical-engineering-and-life-sciences-except-nanotechnology-and-biotechnology"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Module Process Engineer, Terafab","description":"What To ExpectWe are building Terafab, a vertically integrated semiconductor factory at an unprecedented scale.
