Field Service Technician Location: Central Indiana Company: Renbue Properties We are a locally owned and operated fireplace and hearth retailer serving homeowners throughout central Indiana. We specialize in gas fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and outdoor living products. Our reputation is built on quality craftsmanship, extraordinary service, and strong customer relationships. We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to join our growing family. This is a hands-on role that combines field service work with warehouse and delivery support. Position Summary The Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining gas fireplaces and related gas systems. This role also assists with product deliveries, shop organization, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. Key Responsibilities Field Service & Gas Line Work Diagnose, repair, and service gas fireplaces, inserts, and log sets as well as gas stills, fire features and other gas appliances. Perform gas line installation, inspection, and leak testing Troubleshoot ignition systems, blowers, venting, and controls Conduct annual maintenance and safety inspections Ensure all work complies with local codes and manufacturer specifications Provide clear explanations and professional customer service on-site Deliveries & Installation Support Assist with delivery of fireplaces and related products Help unload, stage, and position units at job sites Support installation team when needed Safely operate company vehicles and equipment Other Duties Receive and inspect incoming shipments and parts Assist with warehouse duties Load trucks for daily service and installation jobs Assist with general shop maintenance and cleanliness Track service parts and materials used Qualifications Required: Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Experience working with gas lines or gas appliances preferred Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Ability to lift 75+ lbs and move heavy products safely Comfortable working in homes, on ladders, and in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic and reliability Preferred: HVAC, plumbing, or gas technician experience NFI Gas Specialist Certification (or willingness to obtain) Experience with venting systems and combustion appliances Forklift experience Skills & Traits Detail-oriented and safety-minded Strong customer service skills Self-starter who can work independently Team-oriented attitude Organized and dependable Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly wage based on experience Overtime opportunities Paid training Paid time off Employee discounts Opportunities for advancement in a growing company Work Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday Occasional seasonal overtime (fall/winter busy season) If you enjoy hands-on mechanical work, problem-solving, and being part of a tight-knit local team, we’d love to hear from you.
