The position plays a critical role in supporting OTIF performance, customer satisfaction, and logistics cost optimization.\n\nKey Result Areas:\n\nTransportation & Shipment Coordination\n\nCoordinate outbound shipments to customers, warehouses, and distribution locations.\nSchedule transportation with approved carriers and logistics providers.\nMonitor shipments and proactively resolve transportation issues, delays, and delivery exceptions.\nEnsure priority orders are expedited when necessary.\n\nCustomer Delivery Performance\n\nSupport achievement of OTIF (On Time In Full) targets.\nProvide shipment visibility and delivery updates to Customer Service and internal stakeholders.\nInvestigate and resolve transportation-related customer complaints.\n\nDocumentation & Compliance\n\nPrepare and maintain shipping documentation, export paperwork, and transportation records.\nSupport domestic and international shipping compliance requirements.\nEnsure accurate shipment data within ERP and transportation systems.\n\nLogistics Performance & Continuous Improvement\n\nMonitor transportation performance and identify improvement opportunities.\nSupport freight cost management initiatives and carrier performance reviews.\nParticipate in projects focused on logistics efficiency, shipment visibility, and service improvements.\nHelp implement standard logistics processes and KPIs aligned with the Vesuvius Supply Chain Operating Model.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\n\nWork closely with Customer Service, Planning, Warehouse Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment.\nCoordinate shipment priorities and communicate delivery risks.\nSupport daily execution and exception management activities.\n\nKey Performance Indicators\n\nOTIF (On Time In Full)\nDelivery Reliability\nFreight Cost Performance\nExpedite Freight Cost\nTransportation Claims\nShipment Visibility & Tracking Accuracy\nCustomer Delivery Satisfaction\nExport Documentation Accuracy\n\nQualifications:\n\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.\n2+ years of logistics, shipping, transportation, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.\nKnowledge of inventory management, distribution, and transportation processes.\nExperience in logistics, transportation, customer service, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.\nStrong understanding of transportation planning, carrier management, and customer delivery processes.\nExperience using ERP systems (SAP, JDE, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong communication skills and customer-focused mindset.\nExperience with export documentation and international shipping processes is a plus.\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities\nThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
