Job OverviewTitle: Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - General OR - TravelDepartment: Operating Room - General OR - CSTType: 13-Week Travel ContractSchedule: 4x10 Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM | Call & Weekends Required | No Block SchedulingStart Date: June 8, 2026Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a high-acuity General OR assignment supporting multiple surgical specialties including Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic, Orthopedic, Trauma, General Surgery, and Urology.This is a fast-paced Level I Trauma environment requiring strong multi-specialty OR experience with heavy emphasis on Robotics, Thoracic, and Vascular procedures. Candidates must be comfortable taking call, working rotating weekend shifts, floating as needed, and maintaining a 30-minute callback response time while on call.First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment.This is a tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility. Travelers should be informed prior to submission.Responsibilities:Scrub and assist in complex surgical procedures across multiple specialtiesPrepare and maintain sterile surgical fields using strict aseptic techniqueAnticipate surgeon needs and manage instrumentation during proceduresSupport robotic-assisted surgeries using the Da Vinci Xi Surgical SystemAssist with vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, trauma, general surgery, and urology casesHandle instrumentation, supplies, case carts, and surgical equipmentPerform specimen handling and labeling accuratelyEnsure compliance with universal protocol and surgical time-out proceduresMaintain sterilization, disinfection, sharps safety, and radiation safety standardsFloat to sterile processing or other surgical areas as neededParticipate in call rotation and weekend coverage requirementsSupport emergency trauma surgeries including amputations, gunshot wounds, and MVA casesFollow infection prevention and PPE protocols, including care for COVID-positive patients Key Requirements:MUST have recent Robotics, Vascular, and Thoracic OR experienceMinimum 2 years recent CST experience in multi-specialty OR requiredLevel I Trauma experience requiredEpic experience requiredFirst-time travelers NOT acceptedNBSTSA CST certification requiredBLS requiredCall required: 2-3 calls within a 6-week matrix with 30-minute callback response timeWeekends required: 3-4 weekend shifts within a 6-week matrixHolidays required as neededBlock scheduling not approvedMaximum 7 days RTO allowedFloating required, including possible float to sterile processingClinical prescreen and manager interview required QualificationsEducation:Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Experience:Minimum 2 years recent CST experience required (must be fully independent post-orientation)Strong multi-specialty OR experience requiredRecent experience in Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic, and Orthopedic surgery requiredLevel I Trauma experience requiredExperience in teaching hospitals and trauma settings preferredExperience with Da Vinci Xi robotic system preferred License:Active CST Certification through NBSTSA requiredBLS required Skills:Robotics surgery support (Da Vinci Xi)Vascular surgery proceduresThoracic surgery proceduresOrthopedic trauma proceduresGeneral OR scrubbingTrauma and emergency surgery supportAseptic and sterile techniqueInstrument processing and sterilizationSpecimen handling and labelingRadiation and laser safetySurgical case setup and turnoverEpic EMR familiarityStrong critical thinking and anticipation skills in high-acuity OR settings
