The Electrical Apprentice 1 supports other Electricians in the maintenance, operation and repair of electrical systems and assists with and performs installation and maintainances tasks in order to ensure the effective and safe operation of various types of electrical equipment.\r\nEssential Job Functions\r\nLearn to read, interpret, and execute drawings, schematics, blueprints, and electrical code specifications\r\nTests electrical and equipment and parts for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance\r\nInstalls, repairs, and/or replaces AC/DC motors and drives, motors, starters or relays\r\nInstalls repairs, or replaces electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, support structures, fiber-optic, line assemblies, lighting, and alternative electrical parts\r\nInstalls, repairs, or replaces generators and industrial storage batteries\r\nPerforms preventive maintenance and testing of electrical systems\r\nInstalls electrical circuits, panels, conduit, protecting devices, switches, and equipment required to accommodate the NEC\r\nCorrects connections and wiring on equipment controls\r\nCollaborates with other workers and crew members to assist with work as necessary\r\nOther duties as assigned\r\nQualifications\r\nAll employees must possess the ability to promote and model the Premise Core Values of\r\nBe Ready to Learn\r\nOwn the Result\r\nBuild Trust\r\nDo the Right Thing\r\nDrive to Complete\r\nIn addition to the above, other required qualifications for this role are:\r\n0 – 2000 provable hours of experience as an Electrical Apprentice\r\nThe ability and interest in learning the electrician trade and the willingness to attend and perform the coursework for in-person and online apprenticeship classes\r\nT he ability and interests in learning to read and comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, perform trade specific tasks, and operate tools and equipment, as needed.\r\nThe ability to keep an organized work space for yourself and others to work efficiently\r\nThe ability to work underground, inside buildings or on roof tops\r\nThis position requires 100% travel. This may include out of state traveling and overnight stays.\r\nPossess a basic understanding of electricity\r\nSkilled in organization and problem-solving\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate professionally and clearly through spoken and written forms with peers and management. Able to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.\r\nValid certifications and licensing: MN Registered Unlicensed Electrician, Osha 10/30, First Aid/CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens, (TheCompany provides training to assist in obtaining/renewing required certifications)\r\nPreferred qualifications are\r\n2-year trade school\r\nValid driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record\r\nWorking knowledge of construction, quality, safety and OSHA guidelines\r\nOther Required Competencies\r\nQuick Learner - Learns quickly when faced with new opportunities or situations. Enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. Works to deploy strengths.\r\nPhysical Demands\r\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk, lift, squat, push, pull, climb stairs, ladders and possibly towers, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a computer key board, telephone, power tools, and equipment. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs.\r\nWorking Environment\r\nWhile performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is exposed to extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold, and wet or humid. The employee may work in high places, and/or work around moving mechanical parts, vehicles and other equipment. The employee may also work in areas where the noise volume is loud and constant.
