Further, the candidate will provide helpdesk ticketing support through a ticking system to students, faculty, and staff in the CS department.\nThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and experience administering an enterprise deployment of Linux, along with familiarity of typical deployments of Windows, MacOS, and Linux. Further, the ideal candidate will have experience with software compilation, patching and security management (Windows, Linux, MacOS), and configuring and maintaining Linux automation using scripting (Bash, Lua, etc.), Ansible or Puppet, or cron jobs.\nResponsibilities to Include Provide ongoing technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students.\nResolve account, application, file, network, and other issues in a timely manner.\nWork within a team that shares responsibilities for system administration and user support for the department's instructional and researchsystems.\nMaintain and upgrade existing infrastructuresystemsthat provide enterprise services to the computing environment.\nMaintain and upgrade existing infrastructure services and software\nDesign and develop configurations, workflows, and system integration procedures.\nMaintain technical documentation of deployedsystemsand services.\nPerform the installation and initial configuration of operatingsystems; perform upgrades and apply security patches.\nParticipate in the development of test strategies, devices, andsystems.\nIn addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.\nMinimum Requirements (only one must be fulfilled): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, ComputerEngineering or a related discipline, and at least 2 years of relevant experience.\nAssociate's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.\nHigh school diploma and 4 years of relevant experience.\n*The selected applicant will be required to be on-site in Charlottesville, VA as needed*\nAnticipated Hiring Range: $70,000 - $84,000.\nThis position will remain open until filled. This is a non-exempt level, benefited position. The University will perform background checks on all hires (if required) prior to employment.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. For this role, the University will not sponsor or consider candidates requiring sponsorship for employment visas now or in the future.\nFor finalists, references will be completed via UVA’s standardized processusingSkillSurvey.
