This role is essential in supporting our core tree care operations, contributing directly to the overall productivity and efficiency of the team. You will work with the Grounds Crew in the safe operations of general tree care. A Plus Tree specializes in the planting, removal, pruning (trimming), and health of trees in urban areas. You must have a passion for safety and a desire to work in an exciting environment. We are looking for candidates who have the capacity to learn new skills, including the use of equipment large and small, and be willing to grow within the industry! The ideal candidate should be able to perform both General Tree Care (GTC) and Tree Health Care (THC) functions. Preference will be given to those with an applicator's license, or who are willing to obtain one within three months of employment.\nResponsibilities:\nCarries out all maintenance duties allocated by the Foreman.\nWatches for pedestrians.\nSets up cones for traffic safety and drop zones for climber/bucket operators.\nSpots drivers as they back up vehicles and equipment.\nPoles, prunes, rigs down material for climbers, and keep rig and climb lines clear of brush.\nLoads and chain down equipment on trailers.\nChips material, rakes, and blows leaves.\nUnderstanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions.\nAssisting with tree removals, pruning, and debris disposal.\nLearning techniques and the proper use of tools from senior or more experienced crew members.\nFueling and warming up saws and equipment.\nEnsures all work sites are kept clean and free of hazards.\nInspects equipment and tools and performs repairs and maintenance when required.\nUses the appropriate gear and observing safety protocols.\nReports any issues or safety hazards to the Foreman or other relevant parties.\nParticipates in JSA safety meetings.\nAdheres to company and environmental regulations.\nFollows safety guidelines. Safety is our #1 DONE.\nAll other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nPassionate about tree work, service, and people\nNo experience is required, but previous experience as a tree grounds worker is a plus\nA team player who has a good attitude and keeps pace with the crew\nOutdoor enthusiast!
