Traveling Superintendent
Position Overview
As a Traveling Superintendent at Constructable, you'll lead projects in remote locations for extended periods, with job sites typically in small cities across New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming, and Texas, among others. You will oversee all on-site construction operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll be responsible for managing work schedules, coordinating job site activities, monitoring progress, and maintaining necessary equipment and supplies. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all regulations and jurisdictional requirements, while fostering a productive and efficient team environment. Success in this position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage.

Key Responsibilities
Field Operations
Supervise the team of workers and/or subcontractors in work schedules, project progress, and project completion.
Coordinate day-to-day job site activities and maintain necessary equipment and materials.
Input and manage project documentation via computer or tablet. Use project management software to maintain detailed daily logs, documenting all site activities comprehensively.
Distribute three-week lookahead schedules.
Unsure compliant with local, state, and federal regulation and building codes
Safety and Quality Control
Proactively manage job site safety and enforce Constructable's safety policies.
Monitor construction quality and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Keep daily job logs and conduct routine inspections to mitigate risks and delays.
Communication
Maintain positive working relationship with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Promote a respectful and inclusive job site culture that fosters teamwork and accountability.
Serve as a key liaison between field staff and office teams to resolve issues and ensure project alignment.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
must be willing to travel and work in remote locations for six weeks at a time.
OSHA 10 & 30.
Excellent communication skills in writing, speaking, and listening.
Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices.
Understanding of safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues.
Good planning skills, design execution, resource allocation and contingencies.
In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
Great problem solving and decision-making skills.
Effective leadership abilities including, motivation, goal setting and conflict management.
Lifting and/or moving items of 50 pounds; more weight with a team lift.
Forward thinking and resource planning efficiency.
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
10 + years in construction.
3 + years as a traveling Superintendent experience preferred.
Certified construction manager or certified professional constructor certificate preferred.
