Our groundbreaking initiative aims to enhance access, skills, and competencies for older Ohioans to engage fully in the digital economy.Vantage is on the lookout for a dedicated Digital Navigator to extend personalized support to age and income-eligible community members. You will assist clients in accessing affordable home internet services, securing internet-capable devices, and providing coaching on fundamental digital skills to empower them as effective users of home internet. Your assistance will primarily be delivered through voice telephone, but may also encompass email, text, video chat, and other communication methods tailored to the learner’s preferences.As a Digital Navigator, you will be integral to the Senior Community Service Employment Programs (SCSEP), which work toward fostering the self-sufficiency of older workers and advocating for equitable internet access across a 38-county service area in Ohio.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage in communication with clients seeking or needing assistance from a Digital Navigator.Discuss clients' current home internet access or their needs for connectivity and practical experience with internet-enabled devices.Evaluate clients' access to technology, digital skill levels, and connectivity needs to collaboratively formulate goals for Digital Navigator services.Organize and oversee the support provided to clients, ensuring the achievement of their established goals.Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions and track progress to report outcomes as necessary.Inform clients about options for free or affordable home internet services and assist them in applying for these services.Advise clients on affordable devices and support their acquisition and maintenance efforts by supplying relevant resources.Provide coaching to clients on using internet services to meet their goals, utilizing various interaction methods and directing them to additional resources for digital literacy training.Perform other relevant responsibilities as assigned.Required SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilities.Proficient in assessing and analyzing clients' technological needs.Capable of delivering coaching and support for internet usage.Familiar with diverse communication platforms including phone, email, and video chat.Knowledgeable about affordable internet and device options.QualificationsAn Associate’s degree in a computer-related field of study or equivalent experience is preferred.A minimum of two years of experience in library science or adult technical education is required.Career Growth OpportunitiesThis position is an excellent avenue for professional development within the Senior Community Service Employment Programs (SCSEP), enhancing skills and experience that contribute to career advancement.Company Culture And ValuesVANTAGE Aging is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and the empowerment of older workers.
