The BIM draftsman will be responsible for creating shop drawings, spool sheets and itemized reports for material purchasing.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Transform construction document designs into constructible shop drawings for field installWork directly with the project management team to meet project needsStay up to date on industry standards and local codesUtilize AutoCAD to create custom reports for material acquisitionWork with other department employees to provide a smooth transition between the design and construction phases of a jobFlexibility to visit jobsites to capture field conditions for use in the design phase of projectsJob Requirements:Educational Requirements:A.A.S. in Drafting and Design or greater is preferredExperience Requirements:2 years in a construction tradeRequired Skills and Abilities:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit (optional)Good written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work equally well with potential and existing customers, support team members, and the general publicUnderstanding of, and experience in, implementation of industry standards and local codesTeam orientedWorking Conditions:The primary work environment is an air-conditioned office setting.
