Grant Writer/Project Manager
Grant CoordinatorIdentifies, defines and develops funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as leads the development, writing and submission of grant proposals to applicable funding agencies for all departments of the City of Coweta. Additional responsibilities include coordinating projects and other finance related duties.Examples of duties include:Researching and identifying new grant opportunities for grant funding for various departments within the City and the City's capital improvement programs.Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of funded and unfunded program activities.Assisting and supporting various City departments in applying and submitting grant applications and proposals.Generating proposals, narratives, applications and supporting documents in response to solicitations consistent with policies and procedures; submitting grant proposals to applicable agencies for approval.Overseeing and tracking all grant milestones including, but not limited to, proposals in development, submitted proposals, issued/cancelled proposals, deliverable deadlines, and communication and awards.Managing, coordinating and tracking grant schedules; maintaining records and submitting reports related to grant opportunities.Acting as Project Manager on projects as assigned to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Serving as a liaison to all funding agencies and departments within the organization; maintaining a positive relationship with fund providers and other stakeholders.Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations related to all grant processes.Conducting meetings/interviews with relevant parties regarding grant opportunities.Responding to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.Completing and/or facilitating the completion of grant reports; and assisting in resolving issues and conflicts with federal, state, and other funding agencies.Preparing grant audits.Ensuring quality, accuracy, and completeness of all submitted grant proposals and ensuring grant opportunities are well researched, well-written, well-documented, with a well-developed budget.Developing and maintaining a master file of pending, existing, and past grants, and contracts.Attending and participating in seminars to stay abreast of new trends and developments in the field of governmental grant writing, administration, and reporting.Performing other duties as assigned.Typical qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field, supplemented by two to three years of related experience in the public sector (local, county, state or federal level); or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class D Driver's license.Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort in medium work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Other requirements: Must be able to read and write the English language.
