This position is expected to be a 10-month engagement with a schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. The ideal candidate will have extensive Java development experience supporting enterprise web applications and working throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).Responsibilities:Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based enterprise application modules. Translate business and technical requirements into functional and maintainable software components while writing clean, well-documented code that follows established development standards. Participate throughout the SDLC, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, technical design sessions, code walkthroughs, and peer reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, develop and execute test plans, create technical documentation, contribute to prototypes, evaluate alternative technical solutions, and work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, technical staff, and other stakeholders. Provide technical guidance to junior team members and recommend improvements to application performance, stability, coding standards, and development practices.Minimum Qualifications:8+ years of professional programming experienceDemonstrated professional experience developing applications using JavaExperience with Java 17 and/or Java 21Experience with PL/SQL and SQLExperience with HibernateExperience with SpringExperience with JSFExperience with PrimeFacesExperience with REST and SOAP web servicesExperience with web technologies including HTML, XML, JSON, and JavaScriptExperience with Java multithreadingExperience with data modeling concepts and relational database technologiesExperience developing and executing test plans, including unit and integration testingExperience with version control systems and enterprise software development toolsExperience working within a structured Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid SDLCExperience translating complex business and technical requirements into actionable development solutionsStrong written and verbal communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experiencePreferred Qualifications:Previous experience supporting government or regulatory agency application environmentsPrevious experience supporting environmental, compliance, or regulatory systemsExperience developing applications that interface with state or federal regulatory databasesKnowledge of application security practices and secure coding standardsExperience working within Agile delivery environmentsExperience with Jira and/or Azure DevOpsExperience with enterprise integration patterns and RESTful API developmentExperience mentoring or providing technical guidance to less experienced developersWhat We Offer:Sistema offers competitive pay and solid benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
