Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred\nEngineer in Training (E.I.T.) is Preferred\n2+ years of Structural Engineering experience specific to Telecommunication\nBuilding design experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry preferred\nProficiency with structural analysis software preferred\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nDemonstrate focus on accuracy and high attention to detail\nStrong organizational skills\nStrong written and oral communication skills\nSelf-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high quality solutions\nAbility to work with functional groups and different level of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results\nProficient with computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel\nKnowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC, and state building codes\nKnowledge of CAD software\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities but depending on level of certification may require being in responsible charge of projects and reviewing other engineers work.\n\nEssential Functions\nReview building structures for compliance with current standards and building codes\nWork with existing processes to correctly open analysis projects\nDesign modifications to existing structures\nWork with Designer staff on the development of modification drawings\nGenerate required engineering reports\nReview Quality Assurance (QA) and final review on structural analysis reports and designs\nAnswer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers\nKeep abreast of new technical methods and development related to structural engineering\nProvide assistance on unusual problems\n\nPhysical Demands\nThis is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. While performing the external job duties, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations both on the ground and on building roof tops, sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 35 pounds.\n\nWork Environment\nMost work in performed in climate-controlled internal office environment worked under normal office conditions.
