Engineering Project Manager
Clientmind Recruiting is searching for an Engineering PM for a rapidly growing technology company based in the Greenbelt, MD area. This is a hybrid position and requires working onsite 3x per week. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, proficient in hardware, software, and agile development methodology, understand how to collaborate with external development partners, and will have strong project, presentation, communications, and documentation skills. To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong talent for coordination of complex projects with significant dependencies, and the ability to delegate. This role will support schedule and resource allocation, as well as progress tracking, for research and development projects related to assured positioning, navigation, and timing.Objectives of this Role:• Create detailed project and resource allocation plans for research and development programs from inception to completion• Manage overall budget and timeline for research and development programs• Monitor programs scope, timeline, and budget to proactively address any risks• Oversee multiple projects and teams, ensuring program goals are reached on-time and with highest quality Daily and Monthly Responsibilities• Work closely with program and technical leads to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives in an agile development environment• Report status to leadership and work to identify any gaps that would impact development success.• Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors, partners, and subcontractors• Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives• Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholdersDesired Skills and Qualifications:• U.S. Citizenship• Secret security clearance highly desirable (or ability to obtain Secret level clearance)• Bachelor’s degree in a technology discipline (e.g. engineering, computer science)• 3+ years in Project Management role for technology projects/programs• 3+ year working in a fast-paced new product development environment• High degree of urgency and ownership• Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills• Technically proficient and computer literate• Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills• An ability to translate customer requirements to technical scope• An ability to translate highly technical information to a non-technical audience• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)• Ability to interpret/analyze complex information within development environments• Work independently, as well as in a team environment, within the bounds and guidelines of the organization• Experience working in both an Agile and Waterfall-based environment• Willingness to travel to meet and work with the customer and product end users on-site. While the company allows some workplace flexibility based upon needs of the company, the Technical Project Manager should expect to be frequently working in the office as requirements and deadlines require.
