Projects Control Analyst

The Project Controls Analyst role combines financial analysis, project controls, and reporting to ensure capital projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives. The analyst works closely with project managers, finance teams, engineering, and leadership to provide data-driven insights that improve project decision-making. Responsible for supporting project execution by preparing and analyzing AFEs, managing and maintaining project documentation, both technical and financial in nature. Day to Day: AFE Creation and Management: Prepare, track, and ensure compliance of AFEs while monitoring budget utilization and cost control with project and finance teams. Including project charters and regulatory compliance submissions (permitting, project initiation forms, etc.). Evaluate proposed capital investments (ROI, NPV, IRR) through financial analysis and modeling, develop business cases for project approvals, and advise leadership on project prioritization and funding decisions Capital Project Financial Oversight: Monitor capital project financial performance by tracking budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures, ensuring compliance with approved capital budgets, and analyzing variances between planned and actual spending. Identify and Document Control: Manage and control project documents, ensure versioning and standards compliance, and support accurate technical communication to stakeholders. Prepare financial reports and dashboards for leadership, ensure projects comply with capital approval and governance processes, and maintain documentation supporting project approvals and financial decisions Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure schedule integrity, timely deliverables, and safe work practices. Facilitate schedule review meetings and provide actionable insights to support project decision-making. Is This You? Education: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Finance, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Experience: 2-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, project controls, or capital project support Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction methods and sequencing, ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts, familiar with EPC/EPCM project execution, and understanding of commissioning and operational handover. Demonstrate an ability to utilize drafting software (AutoCAD) and project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, etc) and Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of capital budgeting and project cost controls, Familiarity with SAP and report building tools (PowerBi, Excel, etc) Problem-Solving: Must have the ability to think strategically and implement tactically Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices Safety-Oriented: A strong commitment to safety, with experience in conducting safety audits and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. Working Conditions & Location: Environment: This role involves working in both office and field environments, including outdoor work at mine sites with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Location: The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level.
