The Optical Talent Center enables new frontiers in visible‑light and infrared systems, missile defense, space exploration and more. The role requires deep knowledge troubleshooting, critical thinking, and strong written and verbal communication. The engineer will collaborate cross‑functionally and mentor junior engineers.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nReview design requirements\n\nCreate block diagrams\n\nCreate schematics\n\nCreate circuit card assemblies (CCA)\n\nWork with procurement on bill of materials (BOM)\n\nSupport manufacturing of CCA\n\nPerform test checkout of CCA by creating test plans and performing board tests\n\nSupport program box integration\n\nSupport program lifecycle including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR, and launch specifically for optical payload or component builds\n\nSupport design of Electronic and Special Test Equipment (STE) for laser systems\n\nDevelop and refine design standards and processes\n\nTrain and mentor junior engineers\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nExperience designing and/or analyzing circuit card assemblies (CCA) or printed circuit boards (PCB)\n\nExperience with Xpedition, Zuken and/or KiCAD\n\nFamiliarity with part selection, layout process, electronics design, high speed signals\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance; US citizenship required\n\nDesired Skills\n\nBachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline, or equivalent experience/education\n\nPrevious or current technical leadership experience\n\nDemonstrated leadership or willingness to lead\n\nExperience in PCB design, fabrication or assembly\n\nKnowledge of CCA test requirements and processes\n\nProduct engineering experience (CPE or equivalent)\n\nExperience with PSPICE, Saber, or other electronics simulation tools\n\nExperience in full life cycle development of hardware (design, integration, test)\n\nStrong problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills\n\nActive TS/SCI with Poly clearance\n\nSecurity Clearance\nThis position requires a Top Secret security clearance.
