Executive Director NAMI Cook County North Suburban (CCNS) | Skokie, IL | Part-Time (30 hrs/week)NAMI Cook County North Suburban is seeking an Executive Director to lead our organization and advance our mission of providing advocacy, education, and support for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions.Position OverviewThe Executive Director serves as the chief executive leader of NAMI CCNS. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED oversees daily operations, a professional staff, and a robust volunteer network to ensure organizational sustainability and community impact.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & GovernancePartner with the Board to implement our Strategic Plan, ensuring alignment with NAMI National's Standards of ExcellenceProvide regular reports to the Board on financial health, program metrics, and operational goalsFundraising & Financial StewardshipServe as the primary fundraiser, diversifying revenue through individual giving, corporate partnerships, and grantsLead major annual events, including the NAMI CCNS Gala and NAMIWalksManage the annual budget and ensure fiscal integrity (no government funding is received)Community Engagement & AdvocacyAct as the face of NAMI in the north suburbs, building partnerships with schools, hospitals, and local legislatorsExpand visibility for core programs like Family-to-Family, Ending the Silence, and In Our Own VoiceOperational ManagementRecruit, mentor, and supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of inclusion and lived-experience leadershipEnsure program fidelity and accurate data collection for all affiliate servicesQualifications5+ years of nonprofit leadership experience, ideally in mental health, human services, or advocacyProven track record in donor cultivation and successful grant writingBachelor's degree required; Master's in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or Business preferredDeep commitment to mental health advocacy; lived experience as a peer or family member is highly valuedExceptional public speaking, financial acumen (budgeting/IRS 990 oversight), and ability to lead a diverse, grassroots teamHow to ApplySubmit a cover letter and resume to Quentin Egan at Qegan@namiccns.org
