You will take ownership of the full lifecycle of clothing donations, from initial intake and quality assessment to pricing, merchandising, and sales floor presentation. Your work ensures that every item we sell reflects the dignity, quality, and care our community deserves.In a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you'll balance efficiency with attention to detail, making thoughtful decisions about what gets sold, how it's presented, and how quickly it reaches the floor. You will also play a key role in guiding and supporting volunteers, helping them contribute meaningfully to the store's success.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who takes pride in organization, has an eye for quality and presentation, enjoys working with people, and wants their work to have a visible, tangible impact every single day.Schedule CommitmentMetrocrest Resale is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. The Clothing Specialist works onsite during the hours determined by Resale Management, which may include opening and closing shifts that extend beyond normal operating hours. The Metrocrest Resale Store is closed on Sundays.Consistent attendance is vital for ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining a high standard of customer service, supporting teamwork, ensuring financial accuracy, and upholding the reputation of Metrocrest Resale and Metrocrest Services.Minimum QualificationsAbility to work a flexible schedule, including Monday - Saturday, between the hours of 9:00 AM - 6:30 PMHigh School Diploma or equivalentAbility to lift and move items up to 20 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodationAbility to stand or move for 7 hours per shift, with or without reasonable accommodationComfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume retail or warehouse-like environmentMajor Responsibilities and DutiesProcess, sort, hang, tag, and price all incoming donated clothing in alignment with Metrocrest Resale standards, ensuring consistent quality and brand presentationInspect all clothing items for quality, including identifying stains, tears, excessive wear, or other defects; make timely decisions on resale vs. recyclingEnsure efficient throughput of inventory by prioritizing and moving processed clothing to the sales floor quickly to support store turnover and revenue goalsMaintain organized backroom operations, including sorting areas, racks, and workflow processes to maximize efficiency in a high-volume environmentMerchandise clothing on the sales floor in a visually appealing and organized manner, including sizing, categorization, rotation, and seasonal adjustmentsConduct daily restocking and rotation of inventory to keep the sales floor fresh, full, and aligned with customer demandProvide direction, support, and oversight to volunteers assisting with sorting, hanging, and tagging to ensure quality standards and productivity expectations are metMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in both backroom and sales floor areasSupport front-of-store operations as needed, including operating the register and providing coverage for breaks and lunchesDeliver a positive customer experience by greeting customers, assisting shoppers and donors, and representing Metrocrest with professionalism and warmthRespond to customer questions, resolve concerns, and clearly communicate store policies, including returns and guaranteesContribute to team success by supporting daily operations and helping achieve monthly sales goalsPerform additional duties as assigned by the Resale Management to support overall store operationsSpecial Knowledge/Skills/ExpectationsStrong attention to detail and quality controlAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a high-volume settingBasic merchandising awareness (organization, presentation, and visual appeal)Ability to follow established processes while also identifying opportunities for efficiencyComfort providing direction and guidance to volunteers in a supportive and respectful mannerCustomer service mindset with the ability to engage positively with diverse populationsReliability, consistency, and a strong work ethicAlignment with Metrocrest Services' mission and valuesReporting RelationshipThe Resale Clothing Specialist reports directly to the Resale Assistant Manager.Equal Employment OpportunityMetrocrest Services provides equal employment opportunity to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.In accordance with the ADA, Metrocrest Services is willing to consider any reasonable accommodation.Salary Description
