WELDER II - 2nd Shift
JOB TITLE: WELDER II
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Weld varying metals and material thicknesses, according to specifications and the internal procedures of Future Form Manufacturing (Formerly B&J Industries) with an emphasis on efficient production. Fluent with all weld processes, weld symbols and can independently manufacture parts to meet print. Successful operators will place high emphasis on internal and external customer service including premium quality manufactured components that meet customer’s expectation.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:
Essential
Plan work from drawings or other specifications
Set up job as required
Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded
Fabricate product by cutting, burning and welding various metals and material thicknesses, using appropriate gases and alloys
Have first article bought off by lead, supervisor, or inspector
Check parts regularly for accuracy and quality of weld and record on dimensional verification sheets
Maintain proper documentation on all assignments in coordination with Quality Assurance
Ensure and record accurate counts
Maintain efficient production times
Have parts properly prepared to hand off to the next process
Ensure work is documented accurately including clock-in & clock-out
Create weld fixtures as required
Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with supervisor, lead, and co-workers
Ensure work is documented accurately including clock-in & clock-out
Willing to work overtime when needed
Maintain the responsibilities of the ISO 9001 system in accordance with the requirements defined in the Quality Manual, and Procedure Level documentation
Participate actively and positively in Lean activities
Perform daily maintenance as needed.
Keep work area clean and organized

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Industries
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Essential
Minimum two years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding and setup
Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to do fitup
Grind, deburr and clean parts to a cosmetic finish as needed
Ability to use precision measuring instruments
Strong drawing reading skills
Knowledge of and ability to interpret weld symbols
Ability to adhere to quality standards
Ability to read and understand shop orders, policies and procedures
Writing ability to record information on shop orders
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Manual dexterity
Must have own tools
Beneficial
High school graduate plus relevant vocational training (e.g. sheet metal work, shop mathematics, mechanical drawing, physics, chemistry, metallurgy, blueprint reading, welding certification)
Experience in a precision sheet metal environment
Additional math skills relating to algebra, geometry and/or trigonometry.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Sit 25%, Stand 25%, Walk 15%, Bend 8%, Squat 8%, Lift 10%, Twist 4%, Kneel 1%, Reach Above Shoulder 1%, Climb 1%, Drive 1%, Push/Pull 1%.
Maximum (minutes): Sit 90, Stand 90, Walk 15, Bend 30, Squat 30, Lift 30, Twist 20, Kneel 5, Reach Above Shoulder 15, Climb 5, Drive 5, Push/Pull 15.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).
Working Environment: Shop environment. Moderate noise level. Exposure to dust, heat and cold, and various welding gasses.
This position will require drug testing per company policy.
