After School Assistant Director

The Afterschool Site Program Assistant Director supports the daily operations of the Afterschool program and helps ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for children and families. This role assists with staff supervision, program implementation, compliance, and family communication while helping foster a positive team culture.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Site Director in overseeing the daily operations of the After School and enrichment programAssist with the supervision, coaching, and support of program staff and volunteersHelp implement age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and enrichment opportunitiesFoster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all participantsMaintain attendance records, medical logs, and incident documentation in compliance with OCFS requirementsSupport communication with families regarding program updates, questions, and participant needsAssist in managing daily program flow, including transitions, activities, and supervision of approximately 5080 childrenCollaborate with leadership on program planning and continuous improvement effortsMonitor program inventory and assist with maintaining supplies and materialsComplete all required annual OCFS trainings and compliance requirementsSupport additional program responsibilities as assignedQualifications2+ years of experience working with children ages 512 in youth programming or childcare settingsBachelors degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies, or a related field preferredCPR/First Aid/AED certification preferredStrong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skillsAbility to build positive relationships with children, families, and staffStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and actively supervise children throughout the program dayAbility to lift and carry supplies, equipment, or materials up to 25 poundsAbility to work in active and fast-paced youth programming environmentsWork EnvironmentPrimarily indoor program spaces including classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and multipurpose roomsOccasional outdoor supervision and field trip supportCollaborative team environment with staff, school personnel, and familiesQualifications2+ years of experience working with children ages 512 in youth programming or childcare settingsBachelors degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies, or a related field preferredCPR/First Aid/AED certification preferredStrong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skillsAbility to build positive relationships with children, families, and staffStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and actively supervise children throughout the program dayAbility to lift and carry supplies, equipment, or materials up to 25 poundsAbility to work in active and fast-paced youth programming environmentsWork EnvironmentPrimarily indoor program spaces including classrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and multipurpose roomsOccasional outdoor supervision and field trip supportCollaborative team environment with staff, school personnel, and familiesCompensation details: 22-25 Hourly WagePI745824dccbd5-31181-38251787RequiredPreferredJob IndustriesOther
