Leveraging data from the Slingshot Global Sensor Network (GSN) and additional sensor sources, your team will provide operational analyses, mission insights, and customer support to commercial, civil, and government partners worldwide.This role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and technical guidance in a fast-paced mission environment. We'll provide the mission, the team, and the opportunity to make meaningful impact.Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)Leadand develop a distributedteam oforbital analystsresponsible foranalyzingGSN data anddelivering actionable operational insightsSupport contracts regarding the provision of GSN data and orbital analyst support as well as contracts involving analysis at space operations centers (e.g., the 18th Space Defense Squadron)Engage regularly with government, civil, and commercial customers to provide mission updates, operational support, and technical guidanceReview and validate analysis products and customer deliverables to ensure operational accuracy, consistency, and qualityServe as Slingshot's Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) on GSN data sale contractsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, mission readiness, and customer satisfactionManageanalyst workloads, team priorities, operational metrics, and mission timelines to support successful execution of customer requirementsSupport surge or after-hours operational activities during critical mission events when requiredOversee workflows supporting space domain awareness, sensor tasking, orbital event assessment, conjunction analysis, and customer reportingSupport hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development activities for the Orbital Analyst teamExecute responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot's mission, values, ethical standards, and operational culturePerform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)Pre-flight ChecklistBachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, astronomy, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience supporting SDA, SSA/STC, orbital analysis, space operations, or related aerospace mission environments, or equivalent experienceExperience managing multiple projects at once in accordance with operational and budgetary plans and prioritiesExperience leading technical teams, mission operations, or operational programs in fast-paced environmentsExperience working with optical systems, telescopes, sensor operations, or space surveillance systemsStrong analytical anddecision-makingskills with the ability tooperate effectivelyin time-sensitive situationsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to manage multiple operational priorities, customer deliverables, and distributed team coordination simultaneouslyAbility to lead and collaborate effectively across distributed international teams and multiple time zonesMust be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances, preference for existingactiveclearancesBonus CargoExperience working in a startup or high-growth aerospace environmentExperience supporting government, civil, or commercial space customersExperience with professional optical telescopes, sensor tasking operations, or observational data analysisFamiliarity with orbital mechanics, conjunction assessment workflows, and operational SDA/SSA systemsExperience supporting classified or operational mission environmentsExperience developing analyst training, onboarding programs, or operational proceduresFamiliarity with scripting, automation, or data analysis tools used in orbital analysis workflowsExperience leading distributed or international operational teamsWe'rebuilding a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites.
