You will design, code, and test the core of our PostgreSQL-based database. We focus on building a scalable, reliable, robust, usable, secure, and performant database. You should have strong systems-building experience and expertise in C, understand query optimization and database systems, and ideally already be a PostgreSQL expert (or show an interest and quick aptitude to become a PostgreSQL expert).\r\nThis is a remote and full-time position.\r\nWhat you will be responsible for\r\nPlay a core role in helping to design and develop new database capabilities, including analytics, clustering and distributed operations, query and storage optimizations, and more.\r\nDevelop, test, and release new features and functionality from our database technical roadmap.\r\nContinually improve, optimize, and test the existing functionality of TimescaleDB.\r\nImprove infrastructure to evaluate and test database correctness and performance.\r\nWork closely with our Cloud Engineering team to build a world-class experience for our TigerData customers.\r\nProvide elevated technical assistance to high-value customers, gaining insight into the needs and experiences of our users.\r\nBe an enthusiastic and personable teammate, receiving and providing code reviews and partnering and helping other engineers.\r\nYou'd be a great fit if you have:\r\n5+ years of engineering experience.\r\nExpertise in building industrial-strength software in C/C++ for large code bases.\r\nExperience in PostgreSQL internal development is highly desirable (but not required).\r\nSolid knowledge of SQL, query processing and database engines, concurrency control, data replication, and/or distributed systems.\r\nPassion for building highly reliable system software.\r\nExperience with industry-standard software validation tools helpful, e.g., Jepsen, Valgrind, Coverity, pprof, etc.\r\nOur Commitment\r\nWe respond to every applicant.\r\nWe review applications fairly and objectively, and shortlist based on relevant skills and experience.\r\nWe ensure clear and timely communication throughout your candidate journey.\r\nWe maintain a rigorous interview process with a high bar, designed to give you the opportunity to meet various team members you'll collaborate with across our organization.\r\nAbout Tiger Data\r\nTiger Data, formerly Timescale, sets the standard as the fastest PostgreSQL platform for modern workloads.
