{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"040eb06ad520fd4277d9d799","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/040eb06ad520fd4277d9d799","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/040eb06ad520fd4277d9d799","title":"Structural Engineer 5","description":"Job Description\nWith general direction, creates structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures of basic to high complexity to meet client project requirements.\n\nDirects the development of models, drawings, and specifications.\n\nReviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.\n\nCoordinates designs with other engineering disciplines.\n\nEnsures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.\n\nPerforms structural condition assessments and confined space entries.\n\nContributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.\n\nSubmits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.\n\nCollaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).\n\nReviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.\n\nMeets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.\n\nMay attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.\n\nPerforms other duties as required.\n\nProvides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.\n\nMentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.\n\nMay supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline.\n\nProfessional engineering (PE) license.\n\n7 years of related experience.\n\nDomestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.\n\nEquivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience working on water/wastewater projects.\n\nSkills & Abilities\n\nStrong knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.\n\nExpert knowledge of engineering principles of design.\n\nExpert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nStrong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.\n\nAbility to arrange/layout structural systems and elements for strength, stability, constructability, and construction economy.\n\nStrong knowledge of engineering analysis/design software (e.g. Revit, STAAD, RISA).\n\nAmount of Travel Required\n10% or less.\n\nPay Range\nUSD $91,478.00 – USD $160,118.00\n\nVisa Sponsorship\nNo – we do not support sponsorship in the United States (H-1B or TN Visas for this position).\n\nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\nCDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
