Lays out, positions, and tack welds workpieces.\n\nWelds along vertical or overhead weld lines.\n\nScarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal.\n\nChips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.\n\nCleans or degreases parts.\n\nReads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.\n\nSets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.\n\nPositions workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.\n\nPushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.\n\nObserves machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.\n\nMeasures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.\n\nRemoves burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece.\n\nPerforms minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.\n\nAssists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished workpieces.\n\nRivets and spot welds workpieces\n\nRequirements:\n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
