Job Description
The Cafe Sanitor supports Café Sweet Street by assuring that facilities and equipment are clean and organized.HOURS: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm, Monday to FridayRESPONSIBILITIES:Wash dishes and small wares and assure that they are returned to the designated place.Assure that all equipment is properly shut down and that food products are stored correctly.Clean and sanitize all equipment and surfaces.Sweep, scrub, mop and squeegee floor surfaces, as appropriate for the surface, including kitchen, café and rest rooms.Clean Café equipment including cook top, exhaust hood and filters, table surfaces, fryers, areas behind cook line, etc.Take out trash and waste.Clean exteriors of coolers and freezers.Other cleaning projects, as needed.Perform other tasks as requested including assisting R&D Sanitor, if necessary.QUALIFICATIONS:Prior housekeeping/restaurant sanitation preferred.Minimum 6 months' experience in food manufacturing or restaurant environment.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to follow instructions and to work efficiently and safely.Ability to work independently with limited direction.Ability to perform washing and cleaning tasks thoroughly and follow good sanitation practices.Reliability and excellent attendance.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.Must be able to communicate in English (read, write and converse) in order to receive written and verbal job and safety instructions, and comprehend hazardous material labeling.Company Description In 1979, in Reading, Pennsylvania, Sandy Solmon started baking cookies in a 2-bay garage.
