We tackle the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we're looking for talented individuals who want to help.\n\nYou will:\n\nPartner with AWS stakeholders to develop regional and site-specific development strategies for the construction and operation of AWS data centers and infrastructure.\nProvide technical assistance and risk management support to construction managers and partner teams, and promote and manage environmental compliance during construction, specifically focusing on protection of sensitive environmental resources, wetland permit compliance and construction stormwater NPDES permit compliance (including erosion and sediment control).\nPrepare for data center operations.\nEngage regularly throughout the construction phase with multiple AWS stakeholders, including Real Estate, Legal, Risk, Water, Design, Public Policy, Construction, and Operational teams, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors.\n\nKey job responsibilities\n\nAssess environmental risks and requirements and develop mitigations and strategies to support site-specific project delivery.\nManage environmental compliance during construction, specifically focusing on wetlands permits and erosion and sediment control.\nCommunicate environmental requirements, risks, and activities to internal and external project partners.\nCoordinate with partner teams including Design, Water, Legal, Risk, Power, and others to manage construction and operational constraints.\nDevelop site development strategies that are environmentally responsible and sustainable while meeting project timelines.\nLead regulatory agency interactions and negotiations.\nDevelop, manage, and track metrics to evaluate project success.\n\nA day in the life\nThe AWS Environmental Construction Compliance team manages the environmental requirements during data center and infrastructure development in the Americas.
