This role blends technical engineering expertise with creative problem-solving to deliver designs that align with Bluewater’s standards, exceed client expectations, and supports seamless implementation by project and installation teams. The A/V Systems Engineer partners closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management throughout the full lifecycle of projects, and communicates directly with clients and partners where required to ensure alignment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign and engineer A/V solutions across a wide range of environments, including conference rooms, classrooms, corporate HQ, stadiums & arenas, performance spaces, and themed entertainment spaces.\nProvide the following drawing types as related to audiovisual and per Bluewater Design and Engineering Standards.:\nFloor Plans\nCeiling Plans\nElevations,\nRack Layouts\nDetails (AV Panels, mounting, etc)\nSingle Line (signal flow) diagrams\nDevice Mounting Details\nAV Connection Details\nElectrical and Structural requirements (coordination)\nWrite scope of work narratives and bid specifications when needed\nCreate and validate final equipment lists/bill of materials based on project requirements and budgets.\nConduct site surveys and needs analysis meetings; document findings and incorporate into design.\nCollaborate with Account Executives and Project Managers to define project scopes, estimates, and proposals.\nPerform acoustic and lighting assessments to recommend system requirements (e.g., color temperature, light intensity, acoustic treatment).\nSupport project teams by conducting design reviews, validating installation quality, and providing technical guidance to installers and technicians.\nProvide technical support for service teams and act as a resource for high-profile or escalated client issues.\nCoordinate with related trades (IT, electrical, structural, HVAC) to ensure integration requirements are met.\nStay current with A/V industry standards, product advancements, and emerging technologies.\nAct as a resource and mentor for A/V Technical Staff.\nBuild and maintain strong client-facing communication and collaborative relationships across teams.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nSkills & Qualifications\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience in the Audio-Visual industry, with at least 2 years in a design/engineering capacity.\nTechnical degree in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or related field preferred.\nProficiency in AutoCAD (required); Revit/BIM, Bluebeam, and EASE analysis strongly preferred.
