Senior Living Executive Director

Executive Director – Senior Living Employment Type: Full-Time Lead with purpose. Serve with heart. At Edgewater Senior Living we believe leadership is about people — not paperwork. We’re seeking an experienced and compassionate Executive Director to oversee community operations, ensure compliance, and foster an environment where residents and team members can thrive. Position Summary The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and regulatory compliance of the community. This includes supervision of staff, operational oversight, quality assurance, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, resident-centered leader with strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills who thrives in a dynamic senior living environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality resident care and services. Maintain compliance with Wisconsin DHS 83 (CBRF) and/or DHS 89 (RCAC) regulations. Supervise department heads and provide mentorship, guidance, and accountability. Develop and monitor budgets, payroll, and expense control in collaboration with finance. Ensure timely completion of assessments, service plans, audits, and documentation. Support census growth through effective marketing, community engagement, and family relationships. Coordinate with RN and clinical staff to ensure resident health and safety. Lead investigations, staff training, and corrective action processes as needed. Promote a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven culture among residents and employees. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in assisted living, senior housing, or healthcare management. Strong understanding of DHS 83/89 regulations and compliance standards. Proven record of team leadership, staff development, and operational success. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. CBRF Administrator certification or equivalent (preferred or must obtain within 90 days).
