Key responsibilities include managing teams, developing processes, ensuring quality, driving innovation and executing company goals and objectives while maintaining company core values.\nRole and Responsibilities\nEstablish and manage engineering guidelines and processes for the Outside Plant (OSP) engineering team.\nCultivate a high-performing team that produces top-tier engineering solutions to support clients in the telecommunications and broadband service provider sectors.\nEnsure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of engineered products, including plans, specifications, contracts, scheduling, project status reporting, and budgets.\nDevelop, implement, and oversee status reporting and internal controls for managing personnel and operational costs.\nMonitor and assess current industry trends and emerging developments within the broadband sector to ensure the company's compliance and expertise.\nStay current on best practices and trends related to Fiber/Network Construction and Design technologies.\nCoach and mentor team members to enhance engagement and foster professional development.\nConduct Site Surveys as needed.\nFacilitate communication between the Customer Support and Sales teams regarding network updates and future plans.\nDetermine optimal construction methods, including aerial, underground or joint use.\nDeveloping and managing project budgets, ensuring cost effectiveness and financial responsibility.\nTracking expenses and providing regular reports to management.\nPrepare engineering drawings, permits, As-Built maps, and project reports.\nOversee private easement/right of way procurement.\nGenerate daily, weekly and monthly status reports.\nMaintain communication with utility companies, as well as state, county, and city governmental organizations.\nAssume additional responsibilities as necessary\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nHigh School Diploma, or Equivalent Education, is required\nProfessional Engineer License with five (5) years or more experience in related field (i.e., Utility Engineering, construction, Fiber, Telecommunications)\nExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to multi-task, problem solve, and work both individually as well as a team setting\nProficient in standard Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.\nPreferred Skills\n5-7 years in the telecommunication industry is preferred\nWorks well under pressure in both team and individual settings\nDependable and flexible\nAbility to work in a general office environment as well as in the field as required\nAdditional Notes\nTravel within the state of Indiana is required as needed for engineering needs\nMay require evening and weekend work based on business opportunities, client requirements, and applicable project deadlines\nMainstream Fiber Networks reserves the right to modify, interpret, or apply this job description in any way the organization desires.
