Family Resource Worker -Bilingual Prefer
BASIC FUNCTION:
To facilitate family partnership building and parent involvement in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with community agencies and resources valuable for the provision of services for Early Head Start / Head Start families.
Engages and sustains participation by family in the process of family partnership building.
Develops, in cooperation with other EHS / HS personnel, a planned program of experiences and activities to support and enhance the child’s development.
Maintains accurate and complete documentation and the protection of confidentiality.
By referral, provides services to support the family’s progress toward self – identified goals.
Connects families with children with disabilities with educational or informational resources based on family identified concern or need.
Assists with Parent Orientation and other parent activity functions.
Assists with issuing of Perfect Attendance Certificates, Shooting Star Certificates and other parent awards and incentives.
Assists with on-going recruitment of eligible children, including children with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Sensitivity and awareness of the special issues, concerns, and needs of low income families.
Effective communication skills.
Experience utilizing a family value approach in relating to diverse family lifestyles and cultures.
Computer literacy
