In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.\nWe are seeking a high caliber Manufacturing Engineering Manager who will manage the planning and completion of manufacturing/production engineering projects. This will include the design and development of manufacturing processes, tooling & fixture design and process development products in order to meet daily production and new product development schedules while enhancing productivity and product quality.\nEach employee can make a difference at Abbott and has the power, either individually or as a team, to influence the success of the company. We value people with great ideas who partner with others both internally and externally to take action and accomplish goals.\nWhat You’ll Work On\nProvide leadership to engineering staff regarding project prioritization, process validations, and continuous improvement activities.\nImplement and manage resource planning and project management tools.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Department managers in selecting and scheduling project engineers for Operations projects.\nSupport continuing production, process development and new product introductions..\nMonitor and evaluate project and department progress and results.\nParticipate in cross-functional teams.\nReview and approve protocol and written reports.\nDrive continuous improvement of engineering technical capabilities.\nPrepare technical reports, analysis, recommendations and presentations reflecting the status and results of projects in progress on a regular basis.\nCoach, manage and develop technical staff.\nDevelop, implement, train and monitor effectiveness of engineering systems and procedures to ensure compliance to FDA, GMP and all other applicable agency regulations.\nEnsure a safe work environment consistent with OSHA requirements and Abbott Policies.\nPrepare departmental budgets and control expenditures to stay within spending limits.\nSupport all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements\nHires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback. Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring. Maintains a safe and professional work environment.\nSupport all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.\nComplies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
