Work Environment: Onsite Term: Permanent Bachelor's degree required: Required Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired Job Description:SPECIFIC DUTIES: Engage in the work of attorneys by demonstrating knowledge and status of current cases and projects, utilizing available resources. Perform e-filing for Federal and State Courts. Act as liaison between internal departments and outside agencies. Proofread, draft and/or finalize correspondence, pleadings, legal documents, and other assignments as directed. Assist in trial preparation, such as preparation of trial exhibits and related material. Some travel may be required to attend trials. Handle a wide variety of complex and confidential time-sensitive material. Maintain docketing for litigation attorneys as needed. Organize and track status of cases. Assist with litigation discovery efforts by leveraging the firm's e-discovery technology to facilitate legal discovery and manage Electronically Stored Information (ESI), including the collection, processing, review and analysis, and production of electronic data. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Bachelor's degree. At least 1 year of recent litigation experience within a law firm. Proficiency with DISCO a plus. Working knowledge and understanding of federal and state court processes and procedures including electronic filing portals. Proficient in navigating Federal Court websites to research local rules and familiarity with legal research, including use of Pacer and Westlaw. Familiarity with State and Federal rules and procedures, as well as procedures with State and Federal agencies. Must have a solid understanding of technical legal terminology. Experienced with trial preparation and briefs. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills. Ability to timely respond to deadlines, balance workload and take initiative. Proficient with Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with attorneys and support staff on every level. Detail oriented. All other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to work in a typical office setting and operate office equipment, including computer, copier, scanner. Able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to view and read computer screens and printed documents, often for prolonged periods of time.
