{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"03124d4c7cf220930fe2a3d9","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/03124d4c7cf220930fe2a3d9","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/03124d4c7cf220930fe2a3d9","title":"Electrical Project Engineer (Sr. Electrical Engineer)","description":"Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Sr. Electrical Project Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client near Las Vegas, NV.\n\nThe Senior Electrical Engineer - Project Engineer will support design, construction and commissioning of site electrical projects.\n\nPosition Responsibilities:\nConduct due diligence on electrical infrastructure to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards.\nWork with contractors through various phases of project design, bidding, construction and commissioning.\nServe as an owner’s representative providing field inspections, construction quality assurance, oversight of electrical testing and commissioning activities during various phases of construction, including adherence to established processes, identification of code compliance issues and common deficiencies.\nPreparing engineering related calculations, developing drawings and visual aids.\nAssisting with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials quality.\nWork with the Process Engineering, Process Controls, and Maintenance teams to diagnose electrical issues impacting the process and the power distribution system.\nWork with site maintenance team to optimize routine testing and preventative maintenance schedules and procedures for electrical equipment.\nTroubleshoot electrical failures; contribute to RCFAs and develop actions to prevent recurrence.\nEnsure that the plant electrical protection system (12KV) is operating as intend and critical infrastructure is adequately protected.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant technical degree is required.\n7+ years electrical construction, commissioning and supervision experience in a heavy industrial or mining environment.\nStrong knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E.\nStrong knowledge of industry standards in project construction and commissioning.\nExperience managing electrical construction contractors in heavy industrial facilities.\nExperience with high voltage infrastructure and power distribution systems in an industrial environment.\nDesired Qualities:\nExperience with designing electrical and safety systems in chemical processing facility.\nExperience working with AutoCAD, ETAP, or EASYPOWER.\nExperience with GE Relays, switchgears and Rockwell MCCs.\nAbility to work in teams with strong collaboration skills.\nGood verbal and written skills.\nAttention to detail and ability to learn new skills.\nAbility to complete a task with minimal supervision.\n\n#ind123\n\nWe thank all applicants for their interest.
