Welder/Fabricator

Diligent Innovation Fabrication is seeking a skilled and highly motivated TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our team. Diligent is a fast paced, customer focused company that designs and develops custom projects in the food distribution food industry. Diligent Innovation is rapidly growing and expanding into the Kankakee Valley area and has an immediate need and looking to hire multiple TIG Welders/Fabricators to join this exciting opportunity and future ahead of us. The primary focus of this position will be for the daily responsibilities of cutting, drilling, fitting, joining, TIG welding/fabricating and repairing structural steel components. The TIG welding will consist of stainless steel, flat, round, and square materials. However, this is a cross functional position. He/she may be required to assist others or work other machines as required. Responsibilities: Safety is the number one priority at Diligent and we require this to be a focus on all projects. Performs welding duties and responsibilities include TIG welding, Stick & Mig Welding. • Weld components in flat, horizontal and vertical positions. Examine material and work piece for defects and to ensure conformance and specifications. Make routine decisions and problem-solving techniques to resolve any issues that may arise. Traveling to job sites for installations will be required. Additional responsibilities: Must have a strong knowledge/background of TIG welding/fabrication concepts, practices, and procedures. Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired. • Keen attention to detail is required. Needs to be competent at basic Metric measuring. Layout skills are a must. Must be competent in math. Must be able to read blue prints and the layout of the project direction. Must be able to project manage the development of floor setup and timeline. Must possess ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to safely operate a forklift. Must be flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation. Must be committed to quality, safety, and continual improvement. Must understand and support company policies and procedures. Must be drug free at all times. Lift, carry, push, and/or pull 1-70lbs frequently. Squat/kneel, bed/stoop, twist/turn, grasp/reach overhead and outward frequently. Ability to work in a fast paced industrial environment while wearing vision and hearing protection, steel toed shoes, gloves and any other required protective equipment.
